Sudan: Ta'sees Statement Regarding the Proven Use of Chemical Weapons by the Army

    Sudan Founding Alliance - Foundation

The Islamic Movement, its terrorist brigades, and the army it hijacked since its ill-fated coup in June 1989 have committed numerous crimes against the Sudanese people.

This movement, against which the people rose up in December 2019, refused to cede power and quickly mobilized its army and clandestine brigades. It seized control of state institutions, obstructed the civilian democratic transition, and, with the help of its allies, deceived the population under various names and slogans. After overthrowing the transitional civilian government on October 25, 2021, it launched a war on April 15, 2023, with the aim of regaining power.

The U.S. State Department's decision of May 23, 2025, confirming the use of chemical weapons by the Islamic Movement's army and its brigades in their war against the Sudanese is neither surprising nor new. The Islamic Movement's criminal history is marked by countless atrocities. The most damning evidence remains the International Criminal Court's request to hand over ousted President Omar al-Bashir, Abdel Rahim Mohammed Hussein, and Ahmed Mohammed Haroun to justice.

We, the Ta'sees Alliance, call on the regional and international community to continue to denounce these crimes and impose sanctions on those responsible. The Ta'sees Coalition welcomes any serious cooperation aimed at ending this war and exerting pressure on the army leaders, who reject any peace efforts.

The Ta'sees Alliance recalls that the Islamic Movement, which is behind the division of South Sudan and the wars in Darfur, the Nuba Mountains, and the Blue Nile, exploiting religious lies and the policy of "divide and rule," will not hesitate to use any internationally banned weapon. This same movement launched the Khartoum War and massacred innocent people.

The Ta'sees Coalition emphasizes that the army leaders themselves have admitted to using lethal and covert force against the Sudanese people in order to restore the power of the Islamic Movement, seized by the glorious December revolution.

The Alliance calls on Sudanese men and women to remain vigilant against the maneuvers of this criminal group and its army. It is imperative to thwart their plan for civil war, which would fan the flames of racism and tribalism and cause bloodshed, as they have always intended and continue to do.
