Culture and Tourism in Chad: Towards Renewed Political Synergy

N'Djamena, July 9, 2025 By: Charilogone Editorial Staff

In a discreet hotel in the capital, far from the cameras and media hype, a meeting full of symbolism and promises was held on July 9 between two institutional pillars: the National Assembly's Culture, Youth, and Sports Committee, chaired by Fayçal Abdelkerim Chiguefat, and the Minister of Tourism Development, Culture, and Handicrafts, Abakar Rozzi Teguil.

A frank and timely dialogue. Far from being a mere diplomatic formality, this meeting allowed the parties to lay the foundations for cross-functional collaboration, serving a sector too often relegated to the background. In an opening gesture, the minister praised the "unwavering" commitment of the deputies, recognizing their role in the overhaul of cultural and tourism policies at the national level.

Far from conventional rhetoric, the discussions were deemed "satisfactory" by the participants, who saw this meeting as the catalyst for a new phase of collaborative work. The ambition? To restore Chadian youth, culture, and crafts to their rightful place in public priorities, with appropriate support mechanisms and shared strategies.

A promise of mutual assistance. Combining political voluntarism and institutional pragmatism, this meeting marks the beginning of an active dialogue, in which each stakeholder positions themselves as facilitators of change. Observers agree that this alliance could play a decisive role in revitalizing Chadian cultural identity and promoting sustainable tourism.
