Urgent Call for Action: International Conference on Sudan in London
By: Charilogone Editorial StaffOn April 15, 2025, London hosted a crucial international conference on the crisis in Sudan. It was attended by Dr. Abdoulaye Sabre Fadoul, Minister of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs, alongside His Excellency Mr. Ahmad Makaila, Ambassador of Chad to the United Kingdom based in Paris, and some of their staff. The main objective of this meeting was clear: to mobilize the international community to end the devastating conflict that has ravaged Sudan for two years, affecting more than 30 million people facing an acute humanitarian crisis and requiring urgent assistance.
Dr. Fadoul described the situation in Sudan as an unacceptable tragedy, urging all stakeholders to prioritize peace and emphasizing that this protracted crisis has gone on for far too long. He also highlighted Chad's important role in humanitarian aid, recalling that the country has been hosting Sudanese refugees since 2003, including those who fled the 2023 conflict.
"Chad has been facing this humanitarian crisis for two decades. We are honoring our duty of humanity and solidarity," said Dr. Fadoul, reaffirming Chad's commitment to continue hosting refugees and facilitating humanitarian operations.
The escalation of violence in Darfur is of particular concern to the Minister, who fears a new influx of refugees into Chad. He called on the international community to show solidarity and support local communities already severely affected by the humanitarian migration crisis.
