Chad: First Delivery of Fortified Corn Flour to Combat Malnutrition
By: O.T - Charilogone Editorial TeamFirst official delivery of 14,000 bags of fortified corn flour to the World Food Programme, produced by the CPL company, located in the Amsinené neighborhood, in the 1st arrondissement of N'Djamena.
This flour is intended for porridge for malnourished children, adults, and the elderly. Its production is funded by the European Union through the Food Systems Resilience Program (P2RSA). Made in Chad, this fortified flour will be distributed free of charge to various health centers to combat malnutrition and improve the well-being of infants.
The launching ceremony took place this Wednesday, May 28, 2025 in N'Djamena, in the presence of Mr. Keda Ballah, Minister of Agricultural Production and Industrialization, Mr. Abderahim Awat Atteïb, Minister of Livestock and Animal Production, Ms. Zara Mahamat Issa, Minister of Social Action, Mr. Djamal Yaya Moussa, Mayor of the 1st district, as well as representatives of the delegation of the European Union and the World Food Program (WFP).
As a reminder, this is the first time that fortified corn flour for pregnant and breastfeeding women has been produced in Chad. This product is designed for consumption by children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, as well as the elderly, with the aim of combating malnutrition.
