Trump said: "I want to see Jordan and Egypt take in Palestinians from Gaza. The people of Gaza have no choice but to leave," adding that he does not necessarily support Israeli settlement in the Palestinian enclave.

The US President explained that "Jordan and Egypt have already refused to receive residents from Gaza, but there are those who refuse things and then return to agree to them," noting that "there are multiple dangers in the Gaza Strip and its residents cannot live in these conditions."

"The situation in Gaza is very dangerous and I think the people of the Strip will leave if they have the chance. There are not many targets left in the Gaza Strip and the place is unsafe and unhealthy," he added, noting that "we have enough money in the Middle East to rebuild the Gaza Strip, and the Middle East also has the money to build places for the people of Gaza to move to."

He continued: "The buildings in Gaza are collapsing, there is gunfire everywhere, and the Strip is not a place to live in. The people of Gaza live there because they have found no alternative to it, and Gaza has witnessed nothing but decades and decades of death."

Trump pointed out that "if we could find suitable land to move people from Gaza to, that would be much better for them than returning to the Strip. I think the people of Gaza should get good, new, beautiful land," stressing that "the land that the people of Gaza should get could be in Egypt or Jordan."

US President Donald Trump had previously suggested transferring Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to neighboring countries such as Egypt and Jordan, citing the "lack of habitable places in the Gaza Strip" as a result of the Israeli war that has continued for more than 15 months.

Amman and Cairo rejected the proposal through official statements and declarations issued by a number of their officials. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi stressed that " the deportation or displacement of the Palestinian people is an injustice in which we cannot participate ."

Jordanian King Abdullah II stressed Jordan's firm position on the necessity of keeping the Palestinians on their land, and stressed the importance of supporting the steadfastness of the Palestinians and rejecting any attempts to displace them.

Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi also stressed the Kingdom's categorical rejection of any talk about displacing Palestinians , stressing that "Jordan is for Jordanians, Palestine is for Palestinians, and the solution to the Palestinian issue must be on Palestinian soil."

Trump expressed his belief that Egypt and Jordan will receive the displaced from Gaza, despite previous statements by leaders Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Abdullah II rejecting the displacement of Palestinians.

In a related context, the United Nations announced that more than 545,000 displaced Palestinians returned to the northern Gaza Strip during the past week after the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.

UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said that there are expectations that the number of returnees to northern Gaza during the past week exceeded 545,000 Palestinians, adding during a press conference that, in contrast, more than 36,000 Palestinians crossed from the north to the south of Gaza.

Regarding humanitarian aid, Dujarric confirmed the expansion of relief operations in Gaza, noting the distribution of more than 30,000 identity bracelets to children under the age of four, to maintain contact with their families and ensure their safety.

He pointed out that more than 250 children were separated from their families during their movements, stressing the importance of these bracelets in protecting them.
