LEGISLATIVE IN CHAD: Interview with Mr. Kingabe of Tapol

LEGISLATIVE IN CHAD: Interview with Mr. Kingabe of Tapol for the position of deputy of the “#DODJÉ” department
Interview carried out by: SN/ Charilogone Magazine.

Good morning! Mr. Kingabé; Thank you for granting this interview to Charilogone Magazine in order to allow us to raise awareness among our readers and listeners about your campaign program for the position of “DODJE” deputy.

1- To simultaneously trace your CV, you are leader of the “RDPL” party and member of two rebel movements, namely the “FACT” and the “CCMSR”, in a word, one of the fierce opponents of the regime of Déby senior and recently you decided to return to Chad thanks to the outstretched hand policy of HE Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno President of the Republic of Chad, why this decision to return?

Answer: I left Chad in 1992 and, in January 2022, I decided to return home after 30 years of exile. 30 years is not 30 months, let alone 30 days. It’s a long time, it’s a whole generation.
I seized the pole extended by the president of the military council at the time to return in order to make my share of contribution to the construction of our common building. In addition, you must know that there is a time for everything: a time to leave and another to return; a time for exile and another for reconciliation and peace. Finally in 1992 I left the country but I did not change country.

2- President Kingabé, upon your return to the country, you were appointed to the position of President of the Board of Directors of the “FNDS” for at least two years and, surprisingly, the institution in question was dissolved, can you tell us say, the why of this sudden dissolution?

Answer: The national fund for the development of statistics (FNDS) is a high-quality parapublic entity. It was created by a law and it is completely normal that it is also dissolved by another law. The dissolution is at the initiative of the government and I believe it is a function of government policy. There is no sudden dissolution.

3- President Kingabé, let's return to your candidacy for the legislative elections validated by "ANGE" the institution in charge of elections in Chad, what do you think of this validation of your candidacy for the department of "DODJE"?

Answer: I am very happy about it and I believe that this will give me the opportunity to participate in the democratic game in progress, and above all to participate in the construction of our common building, Chad. We are 5 candidates to be provisionally selected for a single seat in Dodjé: may the best win!

4- President Kingabé, you are now an official candidate to become a DODJE deputy, what really motivates you to take this step and even if you were elected by the inhabitants, what would you do for this department ?

Answer: What really motivates me? Above all, it is the concern of others. I didn't complain in Switzerland. I have comfort that I couldn't have elsewhere. However, I left everything to return to the country. Furthermore, it must be understood that I am not seeking, with this candidacy, to enter the history of Chad. I had already entered the story 40 years ago and since then I have been building it from the inside. I'm not looking to make a place in the sun with this application either. I am truly and solely motivated by the service that my current position could allow me to provide to my community. It is therefore the concern for others that motivates me, nothing else.

5- President Kingabé, no one will be able to initiate or undertake development without involving young people in the program. What are your development programs for the DODJE department in general and youth in particular?

Answer: As I said earlier, rather than worrying about myself, I have always let the concern for others take the place of the concern for myself. Be concerned about others in their journey and political commitment, especially when this “other” is called youth. This is, in my opinion, a tremendous performance, almost unimaginable. It is already a task, a moral and political program at the same time. We must protect our young people, offer them activities and training that will offer them positive alternatives and future prospects, but also offer them local opportunities allowing them to develop their talents.

6- President Kingabé, your last word for the population of “DODJE” and a special message for the Chadians who are listening to you at the moment!

Answer: We are here in local politics. The interests and needs to be defended are concrete, practical and local.
To the population of Dodjé I say this: after 30 years of exile in Switzerland, one of the richest countries in the world, I left everything to come back. It is with the desire to serve and support our community. Our Department has experienced many difficulties until now, but there is hope. To reverse the trend and ward off bad luck, we must unite our minds and our consciences. We must act, together, as members of a large family and not as individuals or groups of individuals isolated from each other.

    End.
